Department of Physics
Physics is the most
fundamental of the modern sciences, and advances are made through
experimental, computational and theoretical efforts. Knowledge about
physical processes is regularly applied to problems in a range of
fields within science and technology. Physics faculty are engaged in
research with upper-level undergraduate and graduate students in
areas including solid state and material physics, optics and lasers,
biophysics, astrophysics and interdisciplinary areas of space
science and materials science and engineering.
