Department of Physics

Physics is the most fundamental of the modern sciences, and advances are made through experimental, computational and theoretical efforts. Knowledge about physical processes is regularly applied to problems in a range of fields within science and technology. Physics faculty are engaged in research with upper-level undergraduate and graduate students in areas including solid state and material physics, optics and lasers, biophysics, astrophysics and interdisciplinary areas of space science and materials science and engineering.
